David Hope-Thomson

Bionomique Manager

David is an experienced Ecologist with over 10 years’ experience.  David holds a Natural England protected species survey licence for Great Crested Newt (Class 2) and Rare Reptiles. During his professional career he has worked across a wide array of disciplines be it highways, rail and housing construction including projects of local to European importance. Of particular note being the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park and the largest Air Turbine site in Europe.  The variety of sectors and projects worked on has given David a wide array of practical experience in Ecology & Environmental legislation, site assessments, species surveys and ecological supervision across the UK.

Emma England

Consultant Ecologist

Emma has over four years professional experience in the Ecology and Environmental sector.  Emma has a broad base of knowledge covering ecological and environmental legislation, working with business to embed legislative compliance into everyday working.  Emma has particular experience working within designated sites: Ramsar, Special Areas of Conservation, Special Protection Areas and Sites of Special Scientific Interest with a focus on mitigating disturbance to protected overwintering and breeding coastal birds, including Schedule 1 species.  Emma has experience in writing and implementing Ecological Management Plans, particularly for Sites of Special Scientific Interest.  She also has experience with bats and other protected species such as Water Vole, Reptiles, Badgers.

Melissa Sullivan

Assistant Consultant Ecologist

Melissa recently joined the team after completing an MSc in Ecology and Conservation from Lancaster University in 2016. She is a graduate member of CIEEM with two years’ professional experience. Melissa’s experience includes protected species surveys, such as great crested newts (which she holds a Natural England class 1 survey licence for), bats, reptiles, badgers, water voles, hazel dormice and botanical surveys, and producing the associated ecological reports. Previously, Melissa regularly volunteered with multiple wildlife trusts, gaining extensive experience of habitat management and wildlife monitoring. She looks forward to broadening her knowledge and professional development within the ecological sector.

William Hurry

Assistant Consultant Ecologist

William has recently joined our ecology team here at DF Clark Bionomique after completing a BSc (Hons) in Environmental Sciences at Oxford Brookes University.  William’s passion is for the promotion of natural values within projects undertaken.  William has practical survey experience of botany, reptiles, bats, water voles and great created newts, and producing the associated ecological reports.   He is also the holder of a Natural England (Class 1) survey licence for great crested newts. William looks forward to the continued expansion of his professional experience and expert development.

Robert Ellis

Senior Consultant Arborist

Robert Ellis is a Senior Arboricultural Consultant with over 15 year’s industry experience. Having worked in numerous roles running his own arboricultural contracting and consultancy business, as well as providing tree stock and hazard tree surveys.  Robert has worked for Network Rail, the Highways England, British Airports Authority and numerous London boroughs. He has worked for both domestic and high profile commercial clients, with roles as contracts manager, freelance climber and tree survey officer.  During his career he has led on multi-award winning projects where his mitigation recommendations ensured high value trees were fully retained, protected and incorporated into project design.

Rebecca Elvidge

Administration Office Supervisor

Rebecca is a professional administrator with 13 years’ experience, gained through positions with corporate manufacturers as well as family run businesses. With a strong back ground in Customer Services and Sales she applies a positive ‘can do’ approach to coordinating office tasks and offers support to the Consultant team and Directors with their day to day duties. Rebecca is also responsible for preparation and renewal of the Company’s Industry Certifications.

Alex Holloway

Administration

Alex is an Assistant Administrator under the supervision of Rebecca Elvidge. He completed an apprenticeship with D F Clark and his main duties are to assist the consultancy team and to correspond with clients to ensure a smooth administration system within the company. Alex is also responsible for the production of CAD drawings that go on the reports issued by the consultants.
