PROJECT: Gardiners Park Village Marketing Suite, Basildon Essex
SECTORS: Commercial / Residential
SERVICES: Landscape Design & Construction
CLIENT: Gardiners Park LLP
DATE: 2017
The sales area was comprised of two separate gardens that would be re-instated as two gardens following completion of the development site. A level difference of 300mm between the two gardens provided the opportunity to create two level lawn areas with a step running the length of the garden. This also distinguished the line between the two properties and the line where the future dividing garden fence would be erected.
Perimeter planting of different textures and heights softens the boundary fence as well as providing instant impact. Cypress trees, maintained at their planted size, feature within the north west corner drawing the eye through to the rear of the garden as well as providing vertical features offering height within the garden.
These vertical elements also offset the building mass of existing properties beyond the garden fence. To the north east sits a swing seat mounted on a raised timber deck. Trellis on the garage wall softens and breaks up the brick work and will take on a green living form once climbing plants are established.
